Excellent review - just a couple of points to follow-up with on the back of the video:

  • First - I'm in the UK and have checked the links from the boxes on the homepage and they take just as long to load here.
  • Getting information above the fold: I've done a site for a very similar company (about a year ago) and the main issue was getting all their products so that you could see them instantly.  I've put a grab of the design we came up with here: http://www.thedesignmechanics.com/downloads/DIS002.jpg
  • This might be a useful design to follow? We design sites using an overlay that shows what an average lap-top would see, so we can make sure that all the important info appears in the browser window without having to scroll down.
  • There's nothing on the site walking people through a buying-making decision - as Scott says, not only do you need your contact details front and centre you need to give people a secondary-level of engagement if they are "just browsing" so you can capture their details for later.
  • Social media - having a page that has nothing going on is the equivalent of dumping your clients into an abandoned showroom.  I actually tried to find the page on Facebook so I could take a look but couldn't find it?
  • One thing that Scott didn't mention was the branding of the site / company.  For someone who sells very high-tec product the logo isn't as cutting edge as I'd want it to be and perhaps a little old-fashioned?

Hope that helps!  If you want to get more detailed design feedback feel free to send me a message.
