Thank you Mr Scott for liking my participation and sharing what PO Business means.

PO is actually from Edward de Bono and my Chinese second and third name coincide with the initial PO. That's where my Business Idea of Me started. Instead of calling it Poh Onn Business, why not name it PO Business instead. I also like the musical " There is No business like Show Business" .That is where I created my own PO Business, to mean Big Business started by Poh Onn the Founder. Opportunities knock not just once but many times when I started LPO Souvenirs Enterprise. I collected antiques like drinking glasses, old settlement stamps, bus tickets over 40 years ,with some lucky numbers fetching high prices, match-boxes, commemorative gift items and some sentimental items handled down from my late father.

Nothing venture Nothing gain. My philosophy is simple. I am most impressed with Ralph Waldo Emerson Essays when he wrote " Do.... and you will have the Power ". Learning from his wise sayings help me a better person. Now I can apply what I had learnt from these great thinkers in my pursuit for Lifestyle !

I find it very helpful as a guide in breaking down the general area I'm thinking of (building houses, my passion), to find my niche. If I deal with what I know and love to do, I will have little or no need to scout for content.

I'm not certain about this path because I've not yet checked the competition. If I decide to take it, my objective would be to help builders and those who want to enter the building business or build a house of their own. My output will be digital products. Thru blogs, perhaps I can relate how I got started in the business, what happened to me along the way, what I've learned, anecdotes, etc. and link this to a website where I will offer designs and lay-outs of houses for sale as downloads. My niche would lie in the choice of these houses (I know what type of houses these will be, who to target as market, their needs, income bracket, etc.). I have thought of this but am not sure if this is the place to discuss it with you in detail. My comment might become too long. Please tell me where I can continue this.

Thank you for your attention, Scott.

This is a very interesting tool Scott. It will be great in the decision making process once a business opportunity has been identified.

Don’t discard those low scoring opportunities though. A change in the market, or a technology, or a new process may turn a 35 into a 95. It could also be the catalyst that helps you discover an unseen niche.

Thank you Scott Fox for the I.D. Checklist. It opens up your potential-perspective on a larger scale with what you have in mind and helps you to think beyond what we might see as just a good idea. Is it?

Hello all!  I am new at this forum, but look forward to being an active participant!

Comment by Brenda Bentley Pruitt on August 7, 2013 at 9:11pm

I really thought I knew my direction, but I guess I need to check out this I.D. check list.  I am hanging on every word that Mr. Scott says. Why would I want to reinvent the wheel! I too, am new to the forum.

This is an eye opener, Thanks! I can evaluate on paper before spending real $cash.  I have noticed that I tend to be optimistic in my assessments.   When I take a break and re-read my answers I realize their is more research that is needed.  I have to STOP the emotion and find a way to collect data to make the answers real. I will pass this along to our WA. West Plains Chamber of Commerce.

Glad that this is helpful to you all.

There is a niche business out there waiting for you, you just need to dig for it.

My years of experience as embodied in this Niche Business Identification Checklist should help you find it!

Please share it with your friends online, too.

This tool is very helpful not only to the newbies but also to the more experience internet marketers. It brings a structural approach in analysis and deciding what is eventually a better idea than one idea based on hear say or gut feel. Thanks Scott.

Comment by Edward Nicholas Phillips on November 20, 2014 at 5:02am

Right now I've got only one or two ideas I feel I can run through the checklist. I would love to run my ideas by Scott and forum members to glean thoughts and input before using the checklist.
