PLEASE NOTE: At the bottom of this discussion Lori suggests an easier (and better) way to do this. Thanks Lori!! The way I describe here works--but Lori's way is the way to go. I love this community :)
After struggling with this several times and still getting it wrong I am sharing this so that beginners can quickly add a video to their post.
What not to do:
Do not click "share" under the video and "embed." While it seems logical (or at least it did to me,) that did not work for me.
How to find a video that you already tried to embed but can't remember the name of:
If you did copy that embedded code you can go on youtube and bring the video up again by using the code that I bolded in this example as a search in youtube. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ImjX7v4zPBE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What works great in WordPress:
If you want to embed a video in your post simply copy the link to the video from your browser navigation bar,
Now go to your post (stay in visual editing--not text) and put your cursor where you want the video to be, paste the link, then highlight the link and click the "unlink" button (or Alt Shift S).
It is actually very easy to do. I like embedding videos as it keeps people on my site longer :)
I hope this will be helpful to someone down the road.

And, what do you think? How about commenting below to help answer this question or to thank this person for posting?
Thanks for sharing this as I'm sure it will be helpful to others. Isn't it great that WordPress has this built in already? There are so many plugins for YouTube but when it comes down to it, using what WP has is the easiest way.
Now, I would like to add just a little icing on the cake here if that is ok.
You know when your video gets to the end and all those promotional things come up for other videos? How about we put a stop to that by using this plugin?...
I have used this plugin on my sites for this - so people won't leave my site.
Well that is interesting indeed. Like the icing ;) That leads me to another question about plugins in general (I will start a new conversation)
This is a neat idea for sure.
Thanks for the tip, Kevin. I just added this to my site. Also sub'd your YouTube channel :)
Embed didn't work for me. How are you doing it?
Just copy the code(after to deselect the suggested videos)
<iframe width="475" height="267" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/d4Kf5po2X64" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
and paste it into the TEXT tab.
Oh brother--super easy and you can turn off the ads. Thanks much, that is great info. I struggled with this as I couldn't get it to work.
OK. I just went over to YouTube, embedded, turned off the "show suggested videos," copied and pasted into the text section and it worked great. No suggestions at the end. Thanks so much Lori.
I edited my discussion to give you props :)
Some people aren't comfortable using the Text tab, in that case the plugin Kevin suggested would be great.
Awesome that you learned how to do this. I have done this a lot in the past also. For me the plugin is a time saver lol but either way works great.
In almost all situations like this there is usually more than one way to do things.
Now you know both :-)
We are going to make a WordPress Expert out of you yet! haha
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Well, if I become a WP expert (unlikely) it will be mainly because of your help and now Lori's as well :)
Well done, team. LOL!
